    Requirements:

    The Manager of Hotel Accounting will be responsible for the accounting, reporting, compliance and owner relations/support for approximately 20-25 properties, in addition to other assigned accounting activities related to all centralized hotels. The Manager will be responsible for training and supervising hotel accounting Team Members as well as identifying and managing improvement opportunities and special projects.


    What will I be doing?
    • Hire, supervise and evaluate hotel accounting Team Members and build competence with relevant employees through training, best practice sharing, etc. Staff to include Senior Financial Analysts and Financial Analysts
    • Work with hotel owners overseeing all aspects of owner reporting, cash management, and serving as the main Hilton accounting contact
    • Work on special department projects as needed such as system conversions, new software implementation and new hotel openings/conversions
    • Oversee monthly closing and post-closing activities, such as perform detailed financial statement variance reviews, research and resolve issues arising throughout the closing and post-close period, review and approve balance sheet reconciliations, perform workpaper reviews, and review and approve wire transfers
    • Work directly with the hotel owners on accounting and financial issues
    • Coordinate cash management needs for hotels: this includes review of actual and projected cash flow reporting, review of owner distributions, and monitor cash requirements and working capital balances
    • This person will have a strong working knowledge of the financial impact of all contracts associated with the hotels so that he or she is conversant enough to assist other staff and senior management in understanding the implications of different courses of action
    • Work directly with property Directors of Finance on accounting and financial issues
    • Supervise cash flows, revenue, and owner reporting for focused and full service hotels
    • Perform compliance duties such as review of management and franchise agreements and the set-up and maintenance of internal controls and SOX compliance
    • Manage the objectives for the team and how those objectives are going to be accomplished
    • Evaluate and streamline business processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness within the department
    • Implement and manage departmental processes and procedures to ensure strategies and directives of the department are carried out
    • Provide direction and directives to the departmental Team Members in the performance of their duties, establishing work priorities and achieving management objectives
    • Influence direct reports to accomplish goals and objectives
    • Assess actual performance against standards to determine whether the team is on target to reach goals and take corrective actions as necessary

    What are we looking for?

    To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:

    • BA/BS Bachelor's Degree
    • A minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience in Accounting
    • Solid understanding of principles and practical application of GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley regulations, and standard operating procedures (SOP's), coupled with the ability to communicate this to stakeholders at all levels
    • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage details through to completion and ensure project deadlines are met
    • Experience communicating and negotiating with all levels of management and external customers

    It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
    • A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience
    • A minimum of seven (7) years relevant work experience in Accounting
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
    • Hospitality industry experience
