    It is the primary responsibility of the Executive Director of Hotel Operations to manage, direct and ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Hotel Operation's Departments with the company's strategic vision.  All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Grand policies, practices and procedures.


    • Provide leadership and direction in the development, execution, and measurement of guest service standards within the Hotel Division consistent with the company's core service standards of S.H.O.W.
    • Provide leadership in the development and monitoring of fiscal budgets and strategies to produce both short-term and long-term profitability
    • Develop and implement strategic plan and vision for the Hotel Division consistent with the Company's strategic vision.
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives at both a property and corporate level
    • Direct the research, development, evaluation, and implementation of new products, services, technology and processes to ensure Hotel Division's competitive position in anticipation of changing customer needs within the dynamic hospitality/gaming environment
    • Work closely with the Operations team, Revenue Management, Sales and Marketing to implement necessary rate changes to maximize hotel revenues.  Closely monitors occupancy, rates and demand forecasts, making recommendations concerning current and future rates
    • Work closely with supervisory/managerial staff to develop overall skills/growth (bench strength).  Promotes and develops team oriented philosophy, stressing the importance for providing unparalleled commitment to excellence in service
    • Develop a culture that promotes effective communications, service excellence, teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, employee satisfaction and diversity
    • Research and analyze existing data and trends, and takes action to reduce costs and increase hotel revenues whenever possible.

    • Participate in developing MGM Grand marketing strategies to increase volume and market share; investigates potential opportunities for incremental revenue whenever possible

    • Work closely with department supervisors/managers to identify/resolve inefficient operations.  Inform the General Manager of any issues/concerns, which may adversely affect the operation
    • Ensure adherence to customer service standards within established departmental policies and procedures.  Evaluates and corrects/modifies systems and structures that create problems or impede commitment to excellence in service
    • Respond to customer service interactions in a professional and timely manner, achieving positive guest/problem resolution.
    • Other job related duties as requested

    Education and/or Experience:


    Required:                                             

    • At least eight (8) years hotel operations managerial experience in a major hotel resort complex
    • AAA Five Diamond Hotel experience
    • Previous operations experience in a high volume and fast pace environment
    • Must possess strong leadership qualities, sound judgment and superior decision-making and problem-solving skills
    • Must possess an understanding of the legal ramifications and implications of various employee and guest actions, both in a bargaining and non-bargaining unit environment
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts
    • Ability to effectively communicate in English, in both oral and written forms

    Preferred:

    • Bachelors' Degree in Hospitality Administration or Business Management
    • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting
