    A Convention Sales Manager is dedicated to providing refined luxury service in order to create lasting and favorable memories. This position promotes, directs, and leads the company's core service standards and brand attributes; supports the company's sustainability initiatives and platform; and manages the operations by maintaining a positive, forward-thinking, and safe environment.  All duties are performed in accordance with department and property policies, practices and procedures.

    • Establish positive working relationships and partnerships with all ARIA team members using the core value to be respectful and considerate.
    • Establish positive working relationships and partnerships with all clients by understanding their expectations and anticipating their needs.
    • To efficiently & effectively communicate clients needs and expectations.
    • Solicit and procure accounts in accordance with established marketing profiles and departmental policies and procedures.
    • Execute pre-qualifications and rate negotiations; establish files, issue contracts, process bookings and appropriate follow-up correspondence with clients.
    • Maintain frequent contact with established and prospective clients.
    • Represent ARIA at trade shows, presentations, sales trips, etc.
    • Assist in creating programs to improve room sales and to target soft and off-peak periods.
    • Host prospective clients on site inspections to include customer entertainment such as dining and shows.
    • Establish convention room rates and minimum catering expenditures.
    • Be able to work in a fast paced environment and manage several groups.
    • Creates a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction.
    • Manages the delivery and measurement of guest service within assigned department(s) consistent with the company's core service standards and brand attributes.
    • Perform all other duties as requested. 
       

    Required:

    • At least 3 years of work experience in the hotel industry. 
    • At least 2 years of work experience in hotel/convention sales. 
    • Excellent customer service skills. 
    • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
    • Professional appearance and demeanor.
    • Worked varied shifts, including weekends and holidays. 
    • High School diploma or equivalent. 
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. 
    • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms. 
       

    Preferred: 

    • Bachelor degree in a related field. 
    • Previous experience working with groups of 50+ rooms. 
    • Working knowledge of automated Sales/Catering system and Delphi. 
    • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
