    It is the primary responsibility of the Executive Director of Sales to guide sales strategy to ensure effective and productive sales in conventions.  All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Resorts International policies, practices and procedures. Oversee the convention booking process for the conference center sales team.  This includes establishing market segments and overseeing the booking process guidelines to ensure yearly financial convention sales goals are met and exceeded.


    • Ensures that sales persons' quotas are met.
    • Ensures that sales activities preferred accounts and group booking be focused to yield maximum revenue per room occupied.
    • Conducst weekly sales meeting to include convention sales and convention services.  
    • Leads assignment.
    • Handles customer complaints
    • Liaisons with counterparts at sister hotels.
    • Establishes yearly individual goals for sales managers.
    • Establishes booking policies to achieve the market mix with best profile for the time period.
    • Attends customer events on and off property including site inspections.
    • Attends tradeshows and participates in sales calls throughout the United States.
    • To prospect and sell convention business on behalf of the hotel in accordance with the objectives established in the Marketing Plan.
    • Performs all other job related duties as requested.


    Required:

    • At least 5 years of hotel sales experience in 4-5 star convention hotel.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Able to lead and mentor a team.
    • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
    • Professional appearance and demeanor.
    • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.


    Preferred:

    • Four year college degree or equivalent.
    • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
