    The Sales Manager secures group business with function space and food and beverage events, while increasing revenues and maximizing the average daily room rate.

    • Solicits/contracts group bookings, which are considered to fall within geographic or vertical market segment.  Performs other necessary functions in relation to their groups on behalf of the Hotel.
    • Execute pre-qualification and rate negotiations, establish files, issue contracts, process bookings and appropriate follow-up correspondence with clients.
    • Ensures that necessary meeting facilities are reserved, where applicable.  Hosts prospective clients visiting the hotel, to include customer entertainment such as dining in hotel restaurants and accompanying to shows.
    • Creates awareness and actively sells and solicits all goods and services of MGM Resorts International through attendance at trade shows and other industry functions.  Develops marketing suggestions to maximize MGM Resorts International's occupancy and average rate during low seasonal periods.
    • Provides ongoing evaluation and account analysis.  Knows competitor's product and pricing.  Meets or exceeds room revenue quotas.
    • Travels as required by Department Head.  Maintains close contacts with Travel Agents, Meeting Planners and corporate clients to ensure customer retention.  Conducts and escorts site inspections and Fam Trips.
    • Performs duties under the immediate supervision of the Executive Director of Sales.  Cooperates with others in matters of mutual concern.  Interacts with all departments to ensure consistency in all projects.
    • Maintain continuing education and management training through programs provided by the company
    • Performs all other job related duties as requested.

    Required: 

    • At least 1 year of hotel sales experience.
    • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Able to lead and mentor a team.
    • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
    • Professional appearance and demeanor.
    • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
    • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.

    Preferred:

    • Master Connections training.
    • Degree in Hotel Management, Marketing, or Business Administration.
    • Working knowledge of Delphi.
    • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting
